Pet Relocation Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Pet Relocation cost?

The costs of safely transporting your pets vary depending on the size of the pet and the distance travelled. The larger the animal and the longer the journey, the more it will cost. Pet relocation can be expensive, bue PetAir offer payment plans to make it more affordable.

Can I travel on the same flight as my pets?

This is possible, but it’s not strictly necessary. Sometimes it’s better to travel a few days before your pet, so you can get your new home ready for their arrival. If you do want to fly together, PetAir recommend booking your pet’s ticket first and then your own.

Should I feed my pet before they travel?

For most pets, the experts recommend a light meal around 12 hours before your pet’s journey begins. This should help to minimise the changes of nausea or discomfort during the journey.

How will my pet go to the toilet during their relocation?

Most cats and dogs will naturally avoid going to the toilet whilst they are in a crate. However, PetAir UK always use veterinary bedding to keep them comfortable, just in case.

What paperwork will be needed for my pet’s relocation?

This varies from one country to the next. Possible requirements include permits, blood tests, vaccines, health checks, and sometimes quarantine as well. PetAir UK can advise in detail depending on your destination.
